Hello
Hi, I’m Laura, a music therapist and music teacher. Music has been a source of healing and connection in my life, and now I’m so grateful to share that with others. I provide music therapy and adaptive lessons for children, teens, adults, and older adults, helping each person use music to grow, express, and thrive.
My Story
Music has always been an anchor in my life. When I was 13 years old, my maternal grandmother recognized my love for singing and enrolled me in voice lessons. From then on, my weekly voice lesson carried me through my most difficult times. Whether it be song-writing in my bedroom, participating in community music programs, or later singing to my grandmother as her health declined, I learned firsthand how powerful music can be for both personal health and collective well-being.

I began volunteering in healthcare settings within Hamilton, Ontario, sharing my music with people in vulnerable situations. The connection between music and wellness led me to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Music Cognition at McMaster University, and a Master’s degree in Applied Music and Health (Neurologic Music Therapy) from the University of Toronto.
Since then, I’ve had the privilege of working with people across the lifespan and with a wide variety of diagnoses and life experiences. My current work includes:

-
Supporting children and young adults on the autism spectrum
-
Providing care for homeless, trafficked, or at-risk youth
-
Working with adults affected by mental illness
-
Bringing music to older adults in long-term care facilities

Alongside music therapy, I also teach voice and guitar lessons. I feel honoured each time a student trusts me to guide their learning, because it takes real bravery to be vulnerable, explore creativity, and grow through music.
I am truly grateful for this work. At the end of every day, I am renewed and inspired by what my clients and students achieve through music.
